In 1969, Guiseppe Ascorti and Luigi Radice left the famous Castello workshop to form their own company, Caminetto. Their passion and skill quickly propelled Caminetto to become one of Italy's most renowned pipe brands by the late 1970s. Roberto Ascorti, Guiseppe's son, grew up in the world of pipes and was eager to carry on the tradition. He later founded the Ascorti workshop, with his father joining him after Caminetto closed. This Rhodesian by Ascroti was rendered in bold neoclassic proportions, placing a plump bowl at the fore of a well-bent shank-and-stem arrangement. Dressing the stummel is a sandblast that highlights a smooth ring along at the bit.
