Kristoff Tres Compadres cigars are an affectionate tribute to a beautiful friendship: the friendship between Kristoff Cigars founder, Glen Case, and two of his closest companions who passed away within months of each other in 2021. Glen had known Chuck Finch since high school, and Rolando Villamil was the factory manager of the Charles Fairmorn factory where Kristoff cigars are made, and together they were called “the three amigos.”
The three cigar selection is a Nicaraguan puro that’s cast against type. Rather than being full and spicy, as Glen puts it, “Tres Compadres is sweet, creamy and medium bodied at most with just a ton of flavor.” Blended with tobaccos from Condega, Estelí, and Jalapa the vitolas include a traditional Robusto, a wide ring Toro, and a 6x60 Gordo. The packaging also pays homage to Glen’s late friends by including the initials of all three gentlemen on the bands and white lacquer boxes.
