Erik Nørding is a Danish pipe maker with over 50 years of experience in the craft. His name has become synonymous with the Danish Fancy Freehand movement, a design style that favors highly organic designs and distinctive finishing techniques. Nørding's Spruce offers the Danish carver's bold, individualized Freehands in a distinctive bark-like rustication. This particular example from the series boasts a wealth of texture across the body of the bowl for the fingers to explore, with the rim and shank end left smooth for contrast.
